REQUIREMENTS OF A TASER ELECTRONIC CONTROL DEVICE

To own a TASER you must be a US Resident, 18 years or older and able to pass a felony background check to activate any TASER ECD (Electronic Control Device).

Even though you may have an FFL, TASER ECD's are not considered firearms so TASER International doesn't use an NIC check. Instead, TASER uses a division of Lexus Nexus to verify only felony records. No application fee for the background check. The application takes about 10 minutes to complete and the results are usually available upon completion.

TASER ECD buyers are encouraged to check their local laws on the ownership and use of electronic control devices in their area. Many state and city statutes are available at State Restrictions. The sale of a TASER ECD is prohibited to residents of NY, NJ, WI, MI, RI, MA and HI.

REGISTRATION OF THE TASER C2

The buyer completes their own felony background check online at www.TASER.com or by calling 1-888-TASER88 (1-888-827-3788). This service is available 24/7.

If the records cannot be verified due to a lack of public information, TASER may ask you to fax in documents such as Driver's License/ Passport or other to verify your identity. This may take additional time for processing.

No application fee.

Once the background check is completed, approximately 10 minutes, the customer is given a 5 digit code to enter through the firing button. This process will activate the TASER C2.

TASER will not activate any units illegally shipped out of the country.

TASER will block activation of units to addresses within the following states/cities: NY, NJ, WI, MI RI, MA, HI, Chicago, Philadelphia and DC. TASER ownership / use is prohibited in these states, except for Law Enforcement.

LIFETIME REPLACEMENT GUARANTEE

The lifetime replacement of a TASER is available to US residents who use a TASER in self defense and it is lost or stolen in the process. Submission of a written police report is required. Please contact TASER directly at 1-800-978-2737.

RETURNS (RMA)

Returns can be completed through www.TASER.com. The serial number of the TASER must be submitted along with payment information, if the TASER unit is out of warranty, or contact TASER customer service.

If you have lost a TASER or had one stolen, please contact TASER customer service at 1-800-978-2737.

A lost or stolen TASER, which is not used in self defense is not eligible for the Lifetime Replacement Guarantee.
